Variety description

10 August 2026

The plant reaches a height of 3–4, sometimes 5 meters. The leaves are large, dark green, with a characteristic bright red or crimson hue of the young shoots. Flowering occurs in summer with small white fluffy flowers gathered in inflorescences. The fruits are edible pinkish-red or purple-black berries that attract birds.

The variety is adapted to tropical and subtropical climates, is sensitive to severe frost, but demonstrates drought tolerance after rooting. The shrub tolerates pruning and crown shaping well. The fruits have a tart taste and can be used for making jams and sauces, however the plant is valued primarily as an ornamental.
