The variety is a hybrid of Tagetes minuta and Tagetes patula nana. The plant belongs to the short-day crop group and differs from wild species by its ability to continue development at reduced temperatures from 10°C, which allows it to be used in temperate climates.

The plant possesses a strong stem and a powerful root system, penetrating the soil to a depth of about 120 cm. The main economic function of the variety consists of clearing the soil of pests, such as Pratylenchus penetrans, when used in crop rotation with potatoes and tomatoes.
