The Tilia cordata variety named Debrecen is characterized by a wider crown shape compared to most other breeding forms of this species. The tree's branches are initially directed outwards, but become more pendulous as it matures.
The plant possesses the trait of drought tolerance. The origin of the variety has not been reliably established.
