Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is an annual legume selected from the Sacromonte population. Plants reach a height of 45–75 cm. Compared to other forms of the species, the variety possesses improved cold hardiness, withstanding temperature drops down to -15...-18 °C.

The plant is well adapted to deep alluvial and clay soils with a pH level of 6–8 and tolerates short-term flooding. The variety is characterized by rapid autumn growth, high forage quality, good palatability, and high nitrogen fixation potential in the soil.

The crop is used for grazing, hay and silage production, and as a cover crop for erosion control. Under favorable conditions, the dry matter yield potential exceeds 4 tons per acre. The variety is capable of producing viable seeds for crop self-reseeding.
