The Melot variety was obtained through individual selection and crossing of wild flora samples. The plant is characterized by a spreading growth habit and a stem height of up to 60 cm. The leaves are medium-long to long, narrow, oblong in shape, with a frequent white pattern. The flowers range in color from pink to purple-violet.
The variety is perennial and undemanding regarding soil and climatic conditions, which allows it to be grown in drier areas. The crop is resistant to diseases and mechanical damage when using agricultural machinery.
The plant is intended for the creation of pasture lands and for inclusion in sown grass mixtures. The variety also performs an ecological function, serving as a source of nectar for pollinating insects.
