The variety is classified as a small-leaved white clover of the silvestris type. Unlike large-leaved forms, it possesses high adaptability to pasture use. The plant forms creeping shoots, called stolons, which actively root at the nodes upon contact with the soil, ensuring the variety's persistence in the sward.

The variety shows adaptability to a wide range of soil pH, maintaining growth performance at acidity values from 4 to 10. Carpatin is used for establishing long-term pastures and hayfields, where it is recommended to be sown in mixtures with perennial grasses to prevent bloat in animals.
