The variety was developed through selection based on a cross between the Danish variety Morsö and Swedish material Skultuna. The plant is characterized by a high specific weight of stolons and belongs to the group of medium-leaf varieties.

A key advantage of the variety is its increased resistance to low temperatures and winter conditions, making it suitable for use in northern regions. The variety can be susceptible to clover rot Sclerotinia trifoliorum.

Undrom is intended for use in grass mixtures, including combinations with grasses such as timothy grass Phleum pratense and meadow fescue Festuca pratensis. The variety has often been used as a reference in scientific experiments studying the productivity and adaptation of clover in northern latitudes.
