The Crato variety belongs to spring forms of triticale. It was selected as a result of breeding work at the National Plant Breeding Station in Portugal. The variety is characterized by improved quality parameters, in particular, a high grain test weight and a grain weight per spike of more than 2 grams.
In agronomic practice, the variety has traditionally been used as a fodder crop. In available publications, detailed information on morphological characteristics, such as plant height, or specific resistance to lodging and pathogens is not provided.
