The Cumulus variety underwent field trials in the UK between 1985 and 1988 alongside the Lasko, Salvo, Purdy and Polo varieties. According to the results of these trials, the yield of the variety had no statistically significant differences from the indicated analogues.

The plant was characterized by increased straw strength. The crop was considered as a grain variety suitable for cultivation on light soils due to its low requirements compared to other cereals.
