The Lotus variety was included in German descriptive variety lists in 2004 and registered under the number SF 228. At present, it has been excluded from current sowing recommendations and is mentioned primarily in archival materials as a reference sample for comparison with new breeding achievements.
This variety was intended for use for feed purposes, as well as for bioenergy needs. Due to its age, detailed modern characteristics of the variety, including yield indicators and disease resistance, are not presented in current agronomic manuals.
