The Riparo variety has early heading and a high thousand kernel weight. Agronomically, it is classified as a "flextyp" variety, suitable for cultivation on various soil types and for diverse uses.
The plant has good resistance to leaf diseases, including brown rust and yellow rust, but shows increased susceptibility to Fusarium head blight.
