The Hana variety belongs to food-grade wheat varieties. In breeding practice, it became widespread as a parent form for creating new varieties due to its balanced characteristics and grain quality indicators, which served as a benchmark for Czech breeding for a long time.

In scientific publications, this variety is often used as a standard for comparison when assessing the resistance of modern lines to diseases such as Fusarium head blight, various types of rust, and Septoria. The Hana variety became the ancestor of a number of subsequent breeding achievements, including the Bohemia variety, and was valued for its adaptability and winter hardiness.
