The Glutenir variety is the result of breeding work by the organization Getreidezüchtungsforschung Darzau. In official German bulletins, it is classified as winter soft wheat.

During variety testing, the wheat demonstrated yields in the upper third in terms of productivity. Detailed morphological characteristics and grain quality data are not available in open publications.
