Variety description

Plants of the variety have stiff stems 65–80 cm high, covered with a waxy bloom. The spike is short, about 5 cm, with short awns. Spikelets are 2–3-flowered, containing 1–2 caryopses.

The grain is naked, round in shape, red in color, with a thousand kernel weight of about 30 g. The variety shows sensitivity to lodging under intensive nitrogen fertilization.

The grain is rich in phenolic acids and alkylresorcinols. The crop is used in the production of bakery products, groats, and extrudates as an alternative to modern soft wheat.
