The variety 05E2848 (LCS Aliron) was developed using doubled haploid methods, followed by head selection and field trials. It was initially adapted for conditions in Spain and later tested in the San Joaquin Valley, California.

Under Spanish conditions, the variety demonstrated high tolerance to Septoria, moderate tolerance to powdery mildew, and susceptibility to leaf rust. Official data on plant height, maturity dates, and grain quality indicators are not provided.
