The winter durum wheat variety IR Roden was entered into the registers of applications for qualification expertise. The developer of the variety is the V.Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of the NAAS of Ukraine.

During trials in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones of Ukraine in 2024–2025, the variety was noted as productive and stable. At present, detailed data on maturity group, plant height, lodging resistance, and grain quality parameters are not publicly available.
