The variety was obtained by crossing Rusticano and Simeto varieties. In studies of the root system, a less uniform distribution of roots throughout the soil profile was noted compared to a number of other varieties. The variety is widely used in scientific experiments in Sicily.
The plant is intended for pasta production and is characterized by high yield. During field experiments with the application of high doses of nitrogen, a decrease in grain yield and a decrease in thousand kernel weight were observed.
