Tulip San Stefano belongs to the group of fringed tulips. The plant reaches a height of 40–50 cm, has a single flower with a dense bud and characteristic needle-like fringe along the edges of the petals. The flower colour is bicolour: the main purple, lilac or dark pink tone is combined with a white margin.
The variety is mid-season. It is suitable for use in gardens and for professional forcing in hydroponics with technical marking EPW47. The forcing period at 9 °C cooling is about 23 days; the earliest start date for work is January 10. The plant requires well-drained soil and protection from winds.
