The variety Santander belongs to the class of fringed tulips. The plant reaches a height of 45–55 cm and has broad lanceolate leaves. The bud is goblet-shaped, pink in color, and a lemon shade may appear in the center upon opening. The edges of the petals are covered with a fine white needle-like fringe.
The plant is mid-season and flowers in April–May. The variety is versatile in use: suitable for landscaping, container cultivation, cut flowers, and forcing. The crop is characterized by good propagation ability and is considered quite undemanding if the soil has proper drainage.
