Variety description

The variety belongs to the group of lily-flowered tulips and has an elegant goblet-shaped flower with characteristic pointed petals that may curl slightly outwards. The petal colour is purple-crimson with a contrasting lemon-yellow margin; colour intensity increases as flowering progresses.

The plant reaches a height of 45–60 cm and belongs to mid-late or late varieties, the flowering of which occurs in late April — May. The variety has sturdy peduncles, is suitable for cut flowers, decorative landscaping of flower beds, and container cultivation.

The plant prefers well-lit areas protected from the wind with fertile, drained soil. In literature, the Sonnet variety is also mentioned as a synonym for the Ballade Dream tulip.
