Vaccinium corymbosum L. Highbush blueberry · Fruit crops · bred by SCOTT NESMITH ARLEN D. DRAPER,

Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to the southern highbush blueberry group and is a hybrid containing genetic material from Vaccinium corymbosum with a small proportion of Vaccinium darrowii. The plant is noted for high vitality, forming an open, spreading bush with narrow crowns.

Early-maturing variety with a chilling requirement of 350 to 450 hours. Berries have an average weight of 1.2–1.4 g, a medium-blue color, a firm texture, and a dry picking scar, although they are prone to softening when overripe.

The variety is partially self-fertile; to ensure optimal yield and berry size, cross-pollination with other southern highbush blueberry varieties having similar flowering times is recommended.
