The variety is the result of breeding by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) at the Balsgård research station (seedling 'BVa 1046'). The plant forms a vigorous bush 1.4–2 meters high with upright branches, characterized by health and resistance to diseases.

The harvest ripening period falls in August–September. The berries are large and have a balanced taste with a combination of sweetness and acidity. The variety is self-fertile, and its winter hardiness reaches -35 °C, which allows for successful cultivation of the crop in severe climatic conditions.
