The variety forms broad, rounded, dark green leaves with an upright growth habit, which facilitates harvesting and reduces product contamination. The leaves possess the nutty taste characteristic of the crop.

The plant is late-flowering and hardy, suitable for cultivation in open field and greenhouses. In breeding work, the variety is used as a standard for describing leaf morphological traits and for obtaining tetraploid forms.
