The variety is a tropical epiphytic orchid with a structure typical of the genus Vanda: a developed central stem and long dark-green strap-shaped leaves reaching 60 cm. The epiphytic-type root system is adapted to absorb moisture from the surrounding air.

The plant's flower stalks form in the leaf axils. The variety is capable of bearing up to 8 large, rounded, waxy flowers, which are valued for their decorative qualities, vivid coloring, and longevity.
