Variety description
10 August 2026
The variety is a semi-evergreen perennial with a basal rosette of pubescent gray-green leaves. Flower stalks are tall, elegant, and resemble candles. The flowers have a pinkish-mauve or madder shade, often with a darker brownish center.
The plant reaches a height of about 90 cm and blooms from June to September. It prefers well-drained, moderately fertile soils and sunny sites. Due to probable sterility, it is propagated primarily vegetatively using root cuttings.
The variety is considered relatively long-lived, with an average lifespan of 3–5 years. Like other members of the genus, it is susceptible to powdery mildew, weevils, and caterpillars.
