Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a hybrid of Viburnum × bodnantense and Viburnum suspensum. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth, reaching a height of 160–300 cm and a width of 100–120 cm. The leaves are glossy, semi-evergreen or evergreen, having a reddish hue in spring and turning dark burgundy or purple-burgundy in autumn.

Flowering begins in late winter or early spring; the flowers are tubular, fragrant, and deep pink in color. The frost resistance of the variety is down to -20°C (USDA zones 7–8). The shrub exhibits resistance to the viburnum leaf beetle and tolerates heat well.

The plant is used in landscape design as a specimen plant, for creating hedges, or as a container crop. Maintenance involves minimal pruning, which is recommended to be carried out immediately after the end of the flowering period.
