The variety belongs to the Vicia faba var. minor group of faba beans and is used as a high-protein crop for livestock feed. In scientific literature, the variety is often referred to as "Jasny" or "Jasny II".
The variety is widely used in comparative studies as a standard object for examining physical seed properties, such as hardness and seed coat strength, as well as in analyzing reactions to fungal diseases, including Ascochyta blight.
