The Tibo variety became the first faba bean form officially registered in Poland with a determinate growth type, in which plant development is self-limiting. The plant is characterized by more uniform ripening compared to traditional indeterminate varieties.
Due to the characteristics of the determinate growth type, the variety required a specific seeding density to compensate for yield, which was approximately 10% lower than that of indeterminate counterparts of that period. The variety was developed with the goal of improving the crop's lodging resistance.
