The plant is of medium height and is distinguished by a stable, robust growth habit. Pods are straight and long. Seeds are medium-sized, slightly wrinkled, green when immature, and become beige upon full maturity. The seed coat is firm, so it is recommended to remove it before eating.

The plant reaches the milk stage by early August. Full seed maturity occurs by late September, at which time the pods turn black. Historically, the variety was used in cooking, in particular for preparing bean porridge with potatoes.
