The variety originates from the area of Lönashult, Västra Torsås parish, Sweden, where it has been cultivated for at least four generations. The plant is characterized by the presence of two tall stems. Each stem forms about 8–10 pods, each of which contains 2 to 4 seeds.
The variety is included in official lists of crops adapted to specific climatic conditions. Archival records from the mid-20th century mention it as a staple crop of local cuisine, suitable for consumption in both green and fully matured dried forms.
