Plants of this variety have strongly branched and thin flexible stems. The seeds are small, gray-brown in color, and have a characteristic pattern and blue-black markings.

The chemical composition of the seeds shows an average content of cyanogenic compounds, in particular vicianin, which imparts a bitter taste.
