Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a descendant of Gouais blanc and develops well in the conditions of the Savoy terroir. The ripening period is medium or medium-late, usually occurring in the first half of October. The vines possess moderate vigor, high fertility, and consistently high yields; short pruning is recommended for them.

The leaf is medium to large in size, round, five-lobed, with deep sinuses and slight arachnoid pubescence on the underside. The bunch is cylindro-conical, compact or very compact, often with a wing. The berries are medium-sized, round or oval, ranging from light green to golden yellow in color, sometimes with a pink tint.

The variety is sensitive to grey mold and black rot, but shows relative resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew. Shoot maturation is characterized as good. Wines made from it are noted for their low alcohol content, high freshness, and mineral notes in the aroma; they are intended for consumption at a young age.
