The 'Evita' variety is a representative of the genus Vriesea and was obtained as a result of breeding work with the maternal variety 'Marjan' and the paternal plant Vriesea friburgensis var. paludosa. The plant is characterized as a good producer, capable of easily yielding progeny in the form of 'pups'.

The appearance of the plant's inflorescence, including the number of its branches, is directly dependent on growing conditions, lighting, and nutrition. The color intensity of the foliage also changes depending on the brightness of the ambient light: when moved from shade to conditions of brighter lighting, the color tone of the leaves varies.
