The variety Sundaze Gold is a compact, short-lived perennial subshrub, which is often grown as an annual. The plant features dark green lanceolate leaves and golden-yellow inflorescences approximately 2.5 cm in diameter, which have rigid bracts.

The plant is moderately fast-growing, heat-tolerant, prefers full sun, and tolerates light partial shade. The variety is suitable for planting in pots, containers, borders, and rock gardens, and attracts pollinators. The inflorescences retain their shape and color after drying, allowing them to be used as dried flowers.
