Variety description

The inflorescences of the variety are dark purple, almost black, and have a velvety texture. The foliage is decorative, glossy, dark green with silvery or white spots; leaf margins and petioles are colored dark reddish-purple. Plant height ranges from 40 to 75 cm.
The plant is intended for cultivation in flower beds, borders, containers, and for cutting. Flowering occurs during the spring-summer period. The variety shows resistance to Verticillium wilt. Cut flowers retain freshness in a vase for 7 to 14 days.
The plant prefers rich, well-drained, constantly moist soils. In climatic conditions below USDA zone 8, tubers require lifting and storage in a frost-free place. The variety forms an upright bush and is often found in trade under the name «Black Star».
