The Escape variety is distinguished by striking flowers of a saturated black shade and dark green glossy oval-shaped leaves. Flower stalk height ranges from 40 to 65 cm depending on growing conditions. The flowers contain no pollen and have a faint fragrance.

The plant is primarily used in floristry for creating floral arrangements, and is also suitable for gardens and containers. The growing period from planting to product maturity is 10–11 weeks. The variety prefers well-lit or slightly shaded areas with fertile soil and drainage.
