The hybrid belongs to the mid-season maturity group with an FAO 260–270 rating. In agronomic studies, it is often considered a reference variety of the traditional type for comparison with modern stay-green hybrids.
The plant is used for the production of silage and grain. Yield metrics, as well as the protein and nutrient content of the grain, depend on the level of mineral nutrition and nitrogen fertilization.
