The maize hybrid DK 604 is used as plant raw material for the production of cob-based products, as well as feedstock for biogas production. In scientific research, the hybrid was used in experimental plots with a density of approximately 9.1–9.3 plants per m².
In comparative field trials, the hybrid showed a relatively low degree of damage by the pest Heliothis zea compared to other tested genotypes. In technical literature, it often serves as a reference sample for evaluating properties, including methane yield and pest resistance.
