The LH 123 line, including the LH 123Ht modification, belongs to the Lancaster genetic pattern. The primary morphological trait distinguishing it from the similar Oh43Ht line is the red color of the cob rachis.
When used in hybrids, the line exhibited a tendency toward stalk breakage during the summer period. The material was used in breeding programs to create commercial hybrids and in research on grain quality for processing and the food industry.
