The variety is a genetically modified maize cultivar based on the MON 810 line (transformation event MON-ØØ81Ø-6). It was developed to provide protection against pests, specifically the European corn borer Ostrinia nubilalis, through the expression of Bacillus thuringiensis endotoxin.
According to the FAO classification, the variety belongs to the 600 maturity group, which corresponds to the category of medium-late or late hybrids. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant and yield indicators are absent in open publications.
The variety was authorized for commercial use in the mid-2000s. As of 2011, it appeared on lists of commercial varieties, but is mentioned as an archival variety in more recent publications.
