The variety was created as a result of a breeding program aimed at improving traditional Italian corn varieties such as Nostrano dell'Isola, Scagliolo Marne and Marano. The primary purpose of the variety is industrial cultivation for beer production.
In official European registers, the variety belongs to maturity group FAO 700. The cultivation geography is limited to the Lombardy, Veneto and Piedmont regions. Detailed morphological and agronomic characteristics are not provided in open sources.
