The variety is an early or very early hybrid intended for silage production. The breeding process utilized a flint line associated with F2 and Ep1 genetic material and the Canadian germplasm pool.

In comparative studies of forage quality, the hybrid was characterized as similar to the LG11 variety in terms of cell wall digestibility.
