The SD102 line is a yellow dent corn. The genealogy of this line includes the cross (Norghum x TX412) x SD100.
Plants reach a height of approximately 129 cm. The ears have red cobs, on which 14 to 16 rows of kernels are formed. The ear husks are described as loose. The line is characterized by good ear fill, as well as stem and root strength.
The line is used in breeding programs as a source of resistance to nematodes of the genus Pratylenchus. Good combining ability of the line with other breeding materials, such as A632, is noted.
