The variety is intended exclusively for grain production used for making popcorn. The grain of this type has high hardness and may be of either pearl or rice shape.

Plants are characterized by a sturdy stem, although this type of corn is prone to tillering and potential predisposition to lodging due to the development characteristics of the root system. To achieve high popping expansion rates, it is required to dry the ears to a moisture content of 13–14%.
