The early-maturing corn hybrid Champ (experimental designation XPH 3008) is a plant approximately 190 cm in height. Cylindrical ears about 19 cm long are attached at a height of 40–50 cm from the ground. The yellow kernels are arranged in 16 straight rows, with ear tips well-filled with kernels and covered by husks.

Genetically, the variety belongs to the yellow se (Sugar Enhanced) type. The main purpose of the hybrid is industrial processing, including canning and freezing of kernels. The plant exhibits tolerance to corn smut.
