Damaun is one of the world's first open-pollinated extra-sweet corn varieties. The maturity period of the variety is 85 to 95 days after sowing. The plant is characterized by a medium growth habit and good overall hardiness.
The ears are of medium size with yellow kernels. The variety possesses a slow conversion of sugars to starch after harvest, which allows for the retention of flavor and commercial quality under refrigeration for at least 10 days.
To ensure continuous harvesting, it is recommended to sow the variety at intervals of 10–14 days from mid-April to July. Cultivation requires spatial isolation at a distance of 300–500 meters from other corn varieties to prevent unwanted cross-pollination.
