The variety is one of the first self-reproducing types of supersweet (sh2) corn. The plant is vigorous, with good resistance to lodging. The maturity period is 100–105 days after sowing.

The ears are large, yellow, and uniform. After harvest, in cool conditions, the produce is capable of retaining its marketability and flavor for up to 10 days. The variety requires spatial isolation of at least 500 meters from other types of corn.

As a population variety, Tramunt possesses natural biological variability, which may lead to a staggered ripening period and require multiple selective harvests.
