The BE4207 line is not intended for commercial sowing and is used as specialized breeding material. It is used in genetic research, specifically in the study of the fertility restorer gene Rf4 in the CMS-C cytoplasmic male sterility system.
The genetic material is used in crosses such as BE4207×BE9515, BE4207×MLW03F, and BE4207×XJH58. The line is closest to the inbred line LH198, however, it possesses differences in morphological characteristics and flowering synchrony indicators.
