The Compa Cb hybrid contains the genetic construct Bt 176, which includes a gene from the bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis that encodes an insecticidal toxin for the control of the European corn borer and other Lepidoptera insects. The plant also possesses resistance to the herbicide glufosinate-ammonium.
In 2005, the use of hybrids with the Bt 176 event, including Compa Cb, was discontinued in the European Union. Information on morphological traits of the plant, such as height or grain characteristics, is unavailable.
