The Cuartal Bt hybrid is a genetically modified plant carrying the MON 810 transgene. This genetic line provides the crop with resistance to pest infestation, in particular to the European corn borer Ostrinia nubilalis, due to the expression of the Bt protein.
In European industry catalogs, the variety is classified according to the FAO 600 maturity index. The crop is intended for grain cultivation. In modern professional reference books, the variety is more often found in archival lists, and its description may differ from amateur hybrids with a similar name.
